Blackburn Woman faces hate online for having an XL Bully - UCLan Live

“Muzzle it or keep it under control or better still get a dog that’s not a potential killer.”

A woman in Blackburn says she has been subjected to hate comments online for having an XL bully following the ban on the breed in December last year.

Zephyr Grunshaw has found herself the target of bullies calling for her dog to be euthanised after the government deemed the breed dangerous and implemented a ban which came into force this month.

Full house for UCLan Japan Day

The University of Central Lancashire’s (UCLan) annual Japan Day celebration saw yet another successful turnout with over 700 attendees.

Marking the event’s 10th anniversary, The booked out event took place over two days with the public cultural day opened by a Soranbushi Dance performance by exchange students from Japan and students of Japanese language.

The guests not only enjoyed martial arts and Taiko Drumming performances, but they also got to savour the taste of Japanese food in the heart

A Fulwood mum, whose concern for children’s safety on Black Bull Lane following an accident triggered the start of a petition, expressed her delight at hearing about new safety measures being considered.

A Penwortham woman who has lost family and friends to cancer in a tragic few years has opened up about how her grief has been poured into creating something positive.
