CV
I am a dependable and extremely motivated multimedia journalist. From self-shooting to creating packages and podcasts, I can cater to news on all platforms, be it digital or TV. I do well in leadership roles and work best in a fast-paced environment. Although my strengths lie in my editing and filming skills, I am well suited to script writing and determined to improve in the field of journalism. The Newsdays module has provided me with industry level experience, allowing me to meet deadlines and produce news on the day.
Experience
Content Creator - UCLan social media
September 2022 - Present
Having the ability to understand and create trendy content, I have recently been commissioned by the University to create content for their official social media platform. I have managed my own account, posting various creative pieces that reflect different aspects of my life and my studies which have provided me with experience in filming, editing, and managing posts. News is consumed on masse on social media platforms, and having the ability to create content that provides news for readers is vital in journalism. My most recent work was a video compilation with a voice over narrative of campus facilities for women to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Radio Presenter – Coastal Radio DAB
March 2024
I put together and successfully completed a two-hour programme called Local Spotlight on for the radio station.
The music-based programme also included an interview with an ex-witch from Blackpool conducted by me, which is also available on the website as a podcast.
News Reporter – Blog Preston
March 2024
I have published various Preston based news articles for the website. The articles required me to find contacts and conduct interviews to gain new information and quotes on existing stories.
Press Release Writing – UCLan Press
February 2024
During my time here, I had the opportunity to explore the workings of a press office and the way it differs from journalism. I worked on several press releases of which one was picked up by a local news website. As well as creating content for their social media pages, I also shadowed press officers to interviews and discussions, where I had the chance to join in and give my opinions.
University Newsdays – University of Central Lancashire
October 2022 – February 2024
As part of my BA journalism degree, I have developed multimedia skills which allow me to work as a radio, tv or digital journalist.
During these days, I wrote articles on several issues and conducted interviews for TV, radio and digital platforms.
I improved my editing skills for all three platforms and learned to operate programmes such as iNews and Burli.
I presented for both television and radio and recorded voice overs for digital pieces for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
I also gained the opportunity to work in a TV news gallery with roles in directing, vision mixing and graphics.
